The VPI Avenger Plus is positioned as the next step above the standard Avenger, incorporating a collection of significant performance upgrades for listeners seeking a higher level of analogue playback without moving all the way to the Avenger Reference. Building upon the proven Avenger platform, the Avenger Plus adds a Fatboy tonearm, periphery ring clamp, speed box, and rim-drive assembly to create a more refined and capable turntable system.
A major enhancement is the inclusion of the Analog Drive System and Signature rim-drive motor assembly, developed from VPI’s flagship designs. The upgraded drive system has been engineered to simplify operation while maintaining the performance benefits of the adjustable drive mechanism. Additional improvements include the JMW 12-3DR Fatboy Gimbal tonearm fitted with Nordost Reference wiring, providing a substantial upgrade over the standard Avenger configuration.
The Avenger chassis utilizes a three-layer bonded acrylic, aluminium, and acrylic construction with damping material between each layer. Three stainless steel corner posts provide isolation, grounding, and tonearm mounting capability. Fully adjustable armboards machined from thick 6061 aluminium allow support for up to three tonearms from virtually any manufacturer, making the Avenger Plus an exceptionally flexible platform for advanced analogue systems.
