The AMG Giro MK II with 9W2 tonearm combines AMG’s refined entry-level turntable with its precision 9-inch-class tonearm to create a complete analogue playback platform. The Giro MK II features a 5.6kg POM platter, high-density aerospace aluminium chassis and quartz-controlled Swiss belt-drive motor, with improved platter-to-subplatter coupling and micrometre-range bearing tolerances designed to increase rotational stability, dynamics and spatial performance. Capacitive touch controls provide convenient tool-free selection and fine adjustment of 33.3 and 45 RPM speeds.
The included AMG 9W2 tonearm builds on the 9W1 with a shorter effective length for compatibility with a wider range of turntables and a resonance-optimised high-grade aluminium arm tube. Its precision adjustment systems include magnetic anti-skating, integrated azimuth adjustment and repeatable VTA adjustment, while handmade internal wiring with gold-plated connections is designed to reduce magnetic field resonances. A two-piece stainless steel counterweight optimises mass distribution and vibrational isolation for controlled cartridge tracking and bass response.
