The VPI Avenger Reference represents the most advanced evolution of the Avenger platform, incorporating technologies developed from VPI’s flagship Titan turntable. Built around the same rim-drive motor concept used in the Titan, the Avenger Reference utilizes a magnetic-drive platter system where magnets are machined directly into the platter, driving rotation without interfering with cartridge performance. According to VPI, this approach serves as an ultimate vibration-filtering solution for high-end analogue playback.

At the heart of the design is the Avenger chassis, constructed from three bonded layers of acrylic, aluminium, and acrylic with damping material between each layer. The chassis is supported by three stainless-steel corner posts that provide isolation, grounding, and mounting for up to three tonearms. Adjustable machined knobs allow precise table leveling, while fully adjustable armboards machined from thick 6061 aluminium provide compatibility with tonearms from virtually any manufacturer.

The Avenger Reference is supplied with VPI’s Fatboy 12-inch Gimbal tonearm fitted with Nordost Reference wiring and further enhanced with several premium upgrades, including the Analog Drive System (ADS), a periphery ring clamp, magnetic-drive platter technology, and Avenger Reference Feet. Together, these technologies create a highly stable and flexible analogue platform designed for extracting maximum performance from vinyl collections.
