The Allnic L-8000 DHT is a high-end line-stage preamplifier and the successor to the pioneering L-5000 DHT, which introduced a fully direct-heated triode signal path from input to output. Designed around Allnic’s longstanding expertise in direct-heated triode circuit design, the L-8000 DHT aims to combine the tonal purity and realism associated with DHT technology with the low-noise operation and consistency required in a modern reference-level preamplifier.

A defining aspect of the design is the use of direct-heated triodes throughout the amplification stages, coupled with upgraded Permalloy-core output transformers. This transformer-coupled architecture provides effective power transfer, constant low output impedance, and wide bandwidth while preserving signal integrity. The circuit operates without negative feedback and incorporates an advanced vacuum tube voltage regulation system to maintain stable operating conditions and suppress power supply fluctuations.

The L-8000 DHT also features Allnic’s patented Absorb GEL tube damping technology, a remote-controlled 61-step Constant Impedance Attenuator, and extensive measures to minimise microphonic effects. Together, these technologies are intended to deliver exceptional transparency, dimensionality, dynamic expression, and channel consistency while preserving the distinctive qualities of direct-heated triode amplification.
