The AMG Giro MK II with 9WT tonearm combines AMG’s refined turntable platform with a high-precision 9-inch tonearm derived from the 12JT. The Giro MK II features a 5.6kg POM platter with an improved platter-to-subplatter interface, a quartz-controlled Swiss belt-drive motor and a decoupled hydrodynamic bearing system. Micrometre-range manufacturing tolerances, revised damping and capacitive touch speed controls are designed to deliver excellent rotational stability, low-noise operation and precise adjustment of 33.3 and 45 RPM playback.
The included AMG 9WT incorporates an enlarged low-friction bearing structure and integrated adjustment systems for accurate tonearm setup. Its 229mm effective length is paired with a resonance-optimised high-grade aluminium arm tube, adjustable magnetic anti-skating, bearing-mounted azimuth adjustment and repeatable VTA control. Handmade internal wiring with gold-plated connections and a two-piece counterweight further contribute to vibration control, cartridge stability and accurate signal transmission.
